To maintain the quality of our support and offer the best possible experience, we inform you that cPanel occasionally removes certain features from cPanel and WHM. We want to notify you in advance about these changes so that you can prepare accordingly. Starting from version 108 of cPanel, the Horde webmail client will no longer be available and will be removed from all updated services.

Why is Horde being removed?

Horde is based on PHP 7.4, which reaches its end of life on November 28, 2022. Because of this, cPanel will remove the Horde webmail interface. We recommend using Roundcube as an alternative for webmail.

Automatic Data Migration cPanel will automatically migrate all data from Horde to Roundcube, ensuring a seamless transition.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this mean for me or my clients who use Horde?
Your email will be available in Roundcube just as it is in Horde. cPanel will focus on Roundcube as the webmail client in the future.

What do I need to do to prepare for this?

You don’t need to do anything at the moment. cPanel is developing tools to migrate your calendars and contacts from Horde to Roundcube and Roundcube + CCS. When upgrading to version 108, the server will automatically copy the Horde data to Roundcube or Roundcube + CCS if you are using CCS.

What about my calendars and contacts?

cPanel will provide migration tools to help you move your calendars and contacts from Horde to Roundcube.

Roundcube: Free and open-source webmail software. You can find more information about Roundcube on their page https://roundcube.net.

If you have any questions or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to ensure that this transition is as smooth as possible for you.
